Today is October 23rd and the the temperature here is in the high 60s. Yesterday it was in the 70s and last week 80s. It sure doesn't feel like Fall around here. Our leaves haven't even started to change colors yet! We have been experiencing some very unusual weather here in North Carolina. Mind you now, I am not complaining nor am I looking forward to Winter. I could live with this weather we are having now all year round with no problem!We took advantage of the lovely weather yesterday by taking a trip to Vollmer Farm like we do just about every year in the fall. It is a fun-filled day for the family. Starting with a hay ride to the back forty where there is a corn maze, a forty-foot underground slide, playground, animals, puppet show, and lots of other activities for young and old alike.
After a day of activities on the farm there is a hay ride back to the shop at the front where you can indulge in homemade icecream and pie, etc. There are also great deals on freshly picked pumpkins and gourds etc. for seasonal decorations.
If you are in the Raleigh, NC area make sure you take a trip to Vollmer Farm located in Bunn, NC.
