Commuting in Rush Hour Traffic

Commuting in Rush Hour Traffic

I spend about ten hours every week driving in bumper to bumper commuter traffic. It takes an hour to make what should be a twenty minute trip! The drive is very nerve wracking and frustrating. It would be much easier if people would only be a little courteous while they were on the road. Most people get behind the wheel and immediately switch into maniac mode! To make matters worse many drivers do not pay attention.

Every day I see women staring in the mirror putting on make up while trying to navigate through traffic, or men shaving or reading the newspaper while driving. The biggest distraction is everyone talking on the cell phone in the car. (I must admit that I am guilty of being on the phone while driving.) Whatever did we do before cell phones? A few years ago nobody even had cell phones, now we are lost without them. If you leave the house without your cell chances are you will turn around and go home to get it!

All I ask is that everyone be a little nicer while commuting...smile and wave to your fellow drivers instead of flipping them off! A little courtesy would go a long way!
